I believe this occurs when you do not have the directory set so that utPLSQL can find the files to recompile. Please verify that you have a utplsql.dir value set. If not, set it and see if the problem goes away. I will improve the error handling. Or could you also check to see if you set serveroutput on turned on -- maybe you are missing a message.
